Women’s Volleyball Team – Emily Peterson
Since 1968, the Oregon volleyball team has been spiking, setting and blocking on the floor of McArthur Court. Under the direction of head coach Jim Moore, the Ducks are making a name for themselves in the ultra-competitive Pacific-10 Conference. With an overall record of 25-9 last season and a trip to the Sweet 16, these women are a force to be reckoned with. Senior Neticia Enesi and junior Heather Meyers are leading the Ducks into the 2009 campaign, which looks to be another thrilling one. Five Pac-10 teams ended the 2008 season in the national top ten and the conference will be strong again in 2009. The fast-paced play creates an exciting experience for fans and each match is electric, filled with emotional moments. Go cheer on the team when the season begins with the Oregon Classic. Matches start August 28 at Mac Court. The first home Pac-10 match is September 25 against rival Washington. Students get free admission with a valid ID card.

Full City Coffee Roasters – Leslie Montgomery
The aromas are enough to tantalize and tempt anyone passing by the popular coffee shop, Full City Coffee Roasters. The sound of the espresso machine producing shots of perfection draws me to the small shop where it is easy to sit next to the window, forget about the stresses of the day and enjoy a deliciously brewed latte. The medium roast used for espresso is smooth and bitter, perfectly balanced. The baristas, who do wonderful latte art, are always friendly and up for conversation. Full City’s atmosphere is welcoming and allows its customers to enjoy their food, drink and time there rather than taking it to run. Spend an hour reading the New York Times or Daily Emerald with your fresh coffee. Drink to enjoy.
