Dec. 13 (Papé Jam): Georgia Tech 74, Oregon 59
Micaela Cocks scored 17 points – including a career-high five three-pointers – and the Ducks shot 50 percent from the field, but the Yellow Jackets scored 36 points off 27 Oregon turnovers to seal the victory at the Rose Garden in Portland. The game also marked Taylor Lilley’s first appearance of the year, coming off a shin injury.
Dec. 17: Marquette 69, Oregon 39
The Ducks made a paltry 22 percent of their shots (including 19 percent from three-point range) in accumulating their lowest point total of the season. The Golden Eagles, the 2008 WNIT champions, outrebounded the Ducks, 44-31, as forward Paige Fiedorowicz recorded a double-double (12 points, 12 rebounds).
Dec. 20: No. 7 Baylor 81, Oregon 71
The Ducks shot 53.8 percent from the field in the first half and led 39-36 in the most welcome surprise of the young basketball season. But the Lady Bears warmed up as the Ducks cooled off, shooting 17-of-30 (56.7 percent) in the second half and scoring 45 points to win the game. Lilley led the Ducks with 20 points, and Nicole Canepa added 11 points and seven rebounds.
Dec. 28: Utah 63, Oregon 49
A game scheduled for Dec. 22 against Portland at McArthur Court was cancelled due to snow, so the Ducks had more than a week between games. Oregon shot only 24 percent in the first half and trailed 30-19, but the Ducks fought their way back. Amanda Johnson tied the game at 47 with a three-pointer with 6:27 remaining, but Utah went on a 16-2 run to beat the Ducks. Lilley and Jasmin Holliday both scored 10 points for the Ducks, and Holliday added six rebounds and six steals.
