Incident: Bomb Threat
Location: 1695 E. 15th Ave.
When: Friday, Jan. 9
Time: 11:02 a.m.
What: The University’s Department of Public Safety responded to a bomb threat, and the Eugene Police Department responded to assist DPS officers. According to the DPS media log, the threat was made at Parsons Hall in Bean Residence Hall Complex. EPD declined to comment on the case, and no DPS officials could be reached for comment.
Incident: Theft From Vehicle
Location: 2125 Cubit St.
When: Friday, Jan. 9
Time: 9:55 p.m.
What: A school bus was broken into while parked outside a McDonald’s. Several bags were stolen, resulting in the loss of school uniforms and other personal items.
Incident: Bomb Threat Arrests
When: Saturday, Jan. 10
Time: 1:30 p.m.
What: Two male juveniles aged 13 and 16 were arrested in connection with the bomb threats made Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The 13-year-old was identified as an O’Hara Catholic School student, and the 16-year-old was identified as a Marist High School student. Both schools were targets of the bomb threats. EPD also believes the two juveniles were connected to the bomb threats Grace Lutheran Church received. EPD reported that the students made the bomb threats in order to get out of school. The suspects, who have been identified as cousins, are being lodged at the John Serbu Youth Campus and Juvenile Justice Center on nine counts of disorderly conduct in the first degree. Because both are juveniles, they will not face federal charges.

Location: 2035 River Road
When: Saturday, Jan. 10
Time: 8:17 p.m.
What: A man fled a Blockbuster store with stolen DVDs in hand. A Blockbuster employee said the man presented an ID card that didn’t match the name on the account he was trying to use to rent DVDs. After being questioned by the employee, the subject ran off with the DVDs. The subject is described as a thin man in his 30s with short, black hair.
