Talk about an exclamation mark to end the season.
Oregon, coming off arguably its biggest series of the year against Florida State, run-ruled Stanford 9-0 on Saturday to cap its regular season. The win completes a three-game sweep for the No. 3-ranked Ducks, who will now wait to learn their postseason seeding. The NCAA Tournament selection show is set for 7 p.m. on Sunday on ESPN2.
Megan Kleist (19-3) got the win for the Ducks. She pitched four innings of four-hit ball, lowering her ERA to 1.26.
Mia Camuso went 2-for-2 and Jenna Lilley went 3-for-3 at the plate for Oregon, which improved to 47-6.
Shannon Rhodes hit a three-run home run in the first inning to set the tone for the game. Then, the Ducks tacked on three more runs in the fourth inning. Cherish Burks, Danica Mercado and Lilley all scored for the Ducks during the frame.
Oregon made the game run-rule eligible with two more runs in the fifth inning. Lilley recorded an RBI single and Daryua Kaboli-Nejad had a pinch hit single to knock in another run.
Rhodes, with three RBIs on Saturday, complied nine during the three-game series.
Oregon is in line to host an NCAA Regional, which would begin on Friday or Saturday at Jane Sanders Stadium.
