— Oregon football lost to No. 23 Stanford this Saturday 49-7. Amid the Ducks’ unanticipated offensive redevelopment, the team continues to search for a solution after Justin Herbert’s injury. Oregon faces the fact that Braxton Burmeister may not be the Ducks saving grace under center just yet.
— After losing its first five conference matches, Oregon soccer get its first Pac-12 win against ASU on Friday, beating the Sun Devils 3-0. Marissa Everett tallied the Ducks’ first two goals, both of which were assisted by teammate Bayley Bruner.
— In Louisville, Kentucky this past Saturday, Oregon women’s Cross Country won at the Pre-Nationals Invitational, beating eight of the NCAA’s top-25 teams. Ahead of the Ducks’ primary pack of runners, sophomore Katie Rainsberger was the earliest to finish, running a time of 19 minutes, 42 seconds earning fourth place. In addition to the women’s success, the men’s team took third place.
— Oregon volleyball seniors, Maggie Scott and Taylor Agost had an accomplished week. First, in the Ducks loss to Washington on Oct. 7, Scott became the fourth Duck in school history to reach 30,000 assists. In addition, Agost set a career best 24 kills in the Ducks five-set win at Washington State Friday afternoon. Following Fridays victory, the Ducks have come out on top in the two teams’ last 22 meetings.
— At Pac-12 men’s basketball media day in San Francisco, the FBI investigation that includes Arizona and USC was a hot topic. For Oregon, Elijah Brown’s flopping and Payton Prichard’s growth were the trending discussion topics ahead of the 2017-18 season. The Ducks were also picked to finish fourth in the Pac-12.
