Oregon sophomore and team USA’s Payton Pritchard and incoming freshman and Canada’s forward Abu Kigab were named to the 2017 FIBA Under-19 World Cup All-Star Team.
Kigab was one of the top performers in the tournament because he averaged a double-double with 14.7 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists. In the gold medal game, in which Canada defeated Italy 79-60, Kigab scored 15 points on 38.5 percent shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Pritchard was the only member of Team USA to be named to the All-Star Team. The West Linn, Oregon, native was the top performer in Team USA’s bronze medal game with 12 points, six assists, one steal and three rebounds. He ended the tournament averaging nine points, 3.1 assists, 2.9 rebounds and one steal per game.
Team USA defeated Spain 96-72 to take the bronze medal.
