One of the fashion items that will star this fall is a frilled, pleated piece of material — the ruffle. Ruffles fall on your body in a chic, playful and sophisticated way.
This fall, ruffles continue to be in fashion and will be seen draped around girls dresses, on blouses, falling down shirt collars like a waterfall and rushing down the sides of sleeves. Ruffles will be everywhere. It doesn’t matter how old you are, to stay up to date with today’s fashion means to dazzle up a styling look with ruffles. Ruffles are being cloaked with bright, flowery patterns, in warm, soft nude colors. The University campus this fall will embody this image in an everyday look.
University freshman student Shenel Ozisik believes ruffles will be worn by many students walking on campus.
“This fall, since military style is coming back, designers soften the look with more feminine details like ruffles. For fall, the wardrobes seem to come more serious,” Ozisik said.
Sophomore Kelley Hennessee agrees that ruffles will be a popular fall look.
“I saw in September’s Vogue that fringe and ruffles are coming back,” Hennessee said.
Hennessee plans on taking the summer look and converting it into fall by pairing up a ruffled blouse or dress with leggings and boots.
Ruffles are making a comeback this fall. High fashion, top models and designers are displaying these ruffles and actresses such as Anna Kendrick, Zoe Saldana and Chloe Sevigny appeared on the Golden Globes’ red carpet. To dress and impress this fall, stay in fashion and wrap yourself in the fun frills.
