Local band Adventure Galley has taken to the musical seas by winning MySpace.com?s Rock the Space II competition.
Music industry professionals selected the band as one of 10 semifinalists out of 17,000 total entrants. Thousands of MySpace users voted for their favorite band to choose the finalist.
Adventure Galley played a free show at WOW Hall on Sept. 9 as a thank you to fans, friends and family for their support in the Rock the Space II voting process.
During the show, a production team filmed a music video for the band?s song “Addict.”
As the winners, Adventure Galley band members Jesse Arthur, Brock Grenfell, George Schultz, David Mills and Aaron Thompson received a contract with MySpace?s music label, MySpace Records, with a $10,000 advance for recording an album and $10,000 for Fender equipment.
