The Oregon football team announced Monday three players have left the program.
According to an athletic department press release, head coach Chip Kelly said sophomore Garrett Embry and juniors Andrew Iupati and Terrance Montgomery will not return to play next year.
Embry, a wide receiver who finished with negative four yards receiving this season, was kicked off the team on Jan. 8 for violating a team rule. The Birmingham, Ala.-native played two years at Oregon as a receiver and on special teams and in his time started two games for the Ducks.
Montgomery, originally from Pittsburgh, Pa., played just one season at Oregon after transferring from Reedley College in California last year. As a defensive tackle, he accumulated a forced fumble and two tackles this year. Both Montgomery and Embry are not leaving Oregon and will stay enrolled at the University.
As for Iupati, the American Samoa native has transferred to Humboldt State University, a Division II college in Arcata, Calif. Iupati was listed as a defensive tackle but did not play any games this year as a redshirt. He had transferred from Golden West Community College. According to goducks.com, Iupati will have two seasons of eligibility remaining for Humboldt State.
