The Oregon women’s golf team’s season is over.
The Ducks fell short of a berth in the NCAA Tournament by the slimmest of margins after a ninth place finish in the NCAA West Regional over the weekend.
The top eight teams in the regional advance to the NCAA Tournament.
Oregon shot 45-over par over the three rounds of the tournament, one stroke behind eighth place Texas A&M. The Ducks did manage to finish in the top half of the 24-team field, albeit 43 strokes behind winner USC.
Duck Junior Ashley Edwards had the lowest score of the tournament for Oregon at 8-over par. That was good enough for a tie for 22nd place in the individual competition.
Erica Omlid finished in a tie for 25th place after a 10-over par tournament, while Kendra Little finished tied for 41st place at 13-over par.
Sophomore Cheyenne Hickle (tied for 70th place at 19-over par) and freshman Raphaela Dyer (tied for 98th place at 25-over par) rounded out the Ducks’ group.
While the majority of Oregon’s team will return next year, Little exhausted her four years of eligibility this season. She’ll leave Oregon as the program’s record holder in wins (four), rounds of par or better (39), and lowest tourney score (-12).
