One of the great blessings of possessing a smart phone is that you have the ability to turn any song on your iTunes into the jingle that goes off as your ringtone, notification alert or alarm.
Of course, depending on which songs you choose, and the situation in which that notification goes off, this great blessing can morph into an ultra-embarrassing, super-awkward curse.
While these songs are entertaining and hilarious as ringtones, we strongly advise you not to put them anywhere near your iPhone, Droid or Blackberry.
1) “Friday” by Rebecca Black: A song that is bad enough for the artist to receive death threats has no place going off randomly in the middle of your day
2) “Hot In Herre” by Nelly: “It’s gettin’ hot in here, so take off all your clothes” — is endorsing temperature-driven nudity something you really want to be doing with your ringer?
3) Anything by 2 Live Crew: Their track list speaks for itself
4) “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley: Rick-rolling yourself is never a good move
5) “Spice Up Your Life” by the Spice Girls: Flat-out embarrassing
6) “Fuck Da Police” by NWA: Imagine being pulled over for speeding, and this song starts to blare from your phone — no way you’re getting a warning
7) “Superman” by Soulja Boy Tell’em: All fine and good — until your grandma learns that the Superman is a sexual position
8) “Barbie Girl” by Aqua: See number five
9) Screamo music: You’ll scare the living crap out of people around you
10) Your own songs: Don’t be a douche
