School’s almost out, and when it is, it will finally be time to let loose, relax and check out old and new favorite bands at all the different concerts in and around the Eugene area. There are several festivals and concerts in the upcoming months, so take advantage of the lack of responsibilities that summer brings and check out some shows.

Hip-hop artist Kid Cudi will perform at the Cuthbert Amphitheater on June 15. Hempstead World Music Festival will spend three days in Oregon, first in Eugene on July 2, then in Redmond on July 3 and finally in Portland on July 4. The festival’s lineup includes Toots and the Maytals, who are billed as the inventors of reggae music. In Bend, the 4 Peaks Music Festival will take place on July 15 and 16 at Rockin’ A Ranch. The lineup features 14 bluegrass, rock and indie bands including Poor Man’s Whiskey, New Monsoon and Elephant Revival. Reggae fusion musician Matisyahu will be performing at WOW Hall on July 31 with Tea Leaf Green. Music fans willing to travel out of state can venture to Bumbershoot: Seattle’s Music and Arts Festival, which will be held on Labor Day weekend, September 3-5.
