Sophomore guard Johnathan Loyd who set career-highs in points (24), field goals made (8), and 3-pointers made (6) kept the Ducks alive Tuesday night as they struggled with and beat the University of Texas @ El Paso 64 to 59. Senior forward Olu Ashaolu, whose trademark dunks continually brought life back into the Matthew Knight Arena and who also posted a season-high 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting, also played an critical role in keeping the Ducks (3 – 1) from adding a second loss to their season.
