Student government working together
On two issues this week, we saw students work together and find some success in opposing administration policy — and they succeeded for the most part. Now, you all need to vote in the EMU Referendum in week 10 and validate their hard work.
Bat Boy is pretty awesome
The buzz around campus is that Bat Boy, the first show of University Theater’s 2011-12 season, has been a success. This — the first show that students have been able to get into for free (thanks to another ASUO initiative) — is a positive omen for the future of the student theater tickets and an example of non-sports-related things University students will get together to do.

Just … the Penn State mess
Penn State officials announced the firing of legendary football coach Joe Paterno@@http://www.gopsusports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/paterno_joe00.html@@ last Wednesday after it was revealed that JoePa had been told about former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky’s sexual abuse allegations and had not done anything about it. An estimated 4,000 Penn State students proceeded to riot,@@checked@@ flipping over two news vans and prompting police to dress in riot gear. Embarrassing behavior coming on the heels of a truly horrifying scandal.
‘Jack and Jill’ fell down a hill and the ratings came tumbling after
Adam Sandler’s new movie “Jack and Jill” features Sandler playing both lead roles. Meaning Adam Sandler is in drag. The movie debuted with a perfect 0 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes. What happened to make Sandler sink this low?
