Jen Beck has stepped down as Oregon lacrosse head coach after 12 seasons in Eugene, Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens announced on Monday afternoon.
Beck served as the first coach in program history, leading the Ducks to a 120-97 record and a 44-36 mark in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation since the program began play in 2005.
Neither Beck nor Mullens provided a statement in the athletic department’s news release.
The Doylestown, Pennsylvania native just wrapped coaching the 2016 Ducks with an opening-round loss to Colorado 11-3 in the conference tournament. Oregon finished the season 9-8, 4-5 in MPSF play.
In 12 years, Beck coached 46 All-MPSF selections, 13 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region team members, and one All-American, Jen May (Derby) in 2008.
Beck was a two-sport athlete at the University of Virginia and served as the captain of both the lacrosse and field hockey teams. She served as an assistant coach at North Carolina and Georgetown before taking the head coach job at Oregon.
The athletic department said a “national search for the new head lacrosse coach will begin immediately.”
