– On Tuesday, DuckTerritory.com reported Oregon football will add a graduate transfer to the offensive line. Zac Morgan from Dayton, who was voted Dayton’s top lineman in both of his past two seasons, will join Oregon in 2016.
– Oregon men’s basketball achieved its highest ranking this season at No.11 in the AP Poll after wins over Colorado and Utah last weekend. The Ducks are still at the top of the Pac-12 with 9-2 conference record.
– Freshman Maite Cazorla was named Pac-12 freshman of the week for the second consecutive time this week. Cazorla helped the Ducks with the sweep of the Washington schools last weekend, scoring four 3-pointers in the third quarter against WSU. “I feel like Maite is gaining a lot of confidence,” Oregon guard Lexi Petersen said of her teammate.
– As senior pitcher Cheridan Hawkins heads into her final season, she could “go down as the most successful pitcher in Oregon history,” Emerald reporter Ryan Kostecka wrote. No. 6 Oregon begins its season this Friday, when the Ducks take on Cal Poly.
–With the 2016 season approaching, Oregon baseball is working to set the roster before its first game on Saturday, Feb. 19. “Nearly every position on the team is still up for grabs,” GoDucks reported on Monday. Oregon’s seven returning starters will try to lock up positions before the season starts against San Diego State.
– OregonLive reported Oregon quarterbacks coach David Yost signed a two-year deal with the Ducks this week. The former Washington State and Missouri coach signed a contract on Feb. 4 that “will pay him a guaranteed $350,000 annually.”
