Oregon competed in the Don Kirby Invitational and the Husky Classic this Saturday, where the Ducks saw success in both meets, breaking school records and setting personal bests.
In its third and fourth meets of the indoor season, Oregon scored points across the board, including big wins in sprints, hurdles and one Duck who made the sub-four club.
Red shirt sophomore Sam Prakel ran a 3:57.95 mile, making him the 17th in Oregon history to run a sub-four indoors.
In the hurdles, Sasha Wallace broke two school records, the first was in the 60m hurdles where she won with a 7.96. Her second record was in the triple jump where the junior broke her own record, 42-8 (13.00m).
In the women’s distance races, Ashley Maton and Lilli Burdon took fourth and fifth, respectively, in the mile. Both women set person bests in those races as well, with Maton clocking in at 4:38.18 and Burdon came in just after at 4:38.24.
In Seattle, Annie Leblanc and Brooke Feldmeier took the second and fourth place positions, respectively, in Oregon history in the 800m when both finished in 2:03. Leblanc is a senior while Fledmeier is in her sophomore year.
The women’s team went on to win the 4X400 when the team of Raevyn Rogers, Ashante Horsley, Deajah Stevens and Alaysha Johnson ran a 3:31.96. Before that race, Rogers and Horsley ran themselves into the No. 3 and No.8 positions in the Oregon open 400m record list.
Devon Allen took second in the 60m hurdle final with a 7.80, while Bradley Laubacher scored a season best 6-11 in the high jump, winning the event for the Ducks.
Next up, Oregon will travel to the Millrose Games next weekend in New York for a day of races before the MPSF Championships.
