– The men’s basketball team completed a successful sweep of the southern California schools, beating #21 USC 89-81 on Thursday and pounding UCLA 86-72 on Saturday. With the sweep, the Ducks improve to 5-2 in the Pac-12, good enough for second place as we approach the midpoint of the conference schedule. Oregon travels to Arizona next, and will face #12 Arizona on Thursday and Arizona State on Sunday.
– The women’s basketball team has bounced back after it’s rough Pac-12 start to win three straight games, the most recent coming at Utah. Jillian Alleyne, dominant as usual, piled up 26 points and 12 rebounds for the Ducks as they complete their first road sweep since the 2008-2009 season.
– The men’s tennis team’s four match win streak came to an end on Sunday as they fell 4-2 to Baylor. At one point the Ducks were leading 2-0, but a three game rally from the Bears proved to be the turning point. It was the first spring loss of the season for the Ducks.
– Tyler Dorsey, Oregon’s standout freshman this year, is making a strong case for Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. Dorsey has been a top basketball recruit since he started playing the game. The Emerald’s Hayden Kim details Dorsey ascent from top ranked middle school recruit, to potential NBA star.
