Oregon women’s basketball standout Jillian Alleyne is one of two Pac-12 players on the Wooden Award midseason list, which was announced on Friday morning.
Alleyne is one of 20 student-athletes nationally to make the list. The selection comes from a poll of national college basketball experts who picked 20 players for the sport’s most prestigious individual honor. The accolade was based on Alleyne’s performance during the first half of the 2015-16 season.
The senior from Fontana, California has started all 15 games for the Ducks this season. She’s averaging 18.1 points and 13.4 rebounds per game, good for 13 double-doubles this year. She’s shooting 57.7 percent from the floor and ranks fourth in the Pac-12 in scoring and first in rebounding. She’s also recorded 30 assists and 22 steals this year.
In early February, another Top 20 list will be announced. The list will trim to 15 student-athletes on the final ballot, just before the NCAA Tournament at the conclusion of the season.
