Students are invited to attend an interview today with the first of four candidates vying for the position left vacant by Dan Williams, vice president for administration.
University President Dave Frohnmayer announced Williams’ resignation, effective at the end of spring term, in a Sept. 28, 2004, letter to faculty, staff and graduate teaching fellows. Around that time, a national search process, led by Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies Rich Linton , began.
Today, Cleve McDaniel, current vice president of the Educational Consulting Foundation, will meet with students from 4:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the EMU Rogue Room. Students will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide input. Over the course of today and Tuesday, McDaniel will follow a full schedule of meetings with faculty and administration officials.
Over the next week and a half, the other three candidates will interview for the position.
The job itself has undergone some changes as well. Frohnmayer wrote in the letter that the position, which is now called the vice president for finance and administration, will include budget and finance responsibilities and will report to the senior vice president. Also, intercollegiate athletics will now report directly to the president.
