The ASUO spring Street Faire will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
today, Thursday and Friday.
Kelly O’Brien, the faire’s marketing director, said there will be almost
100 craft, food and nonprofit booths at this year’s event. Goods sold will vary from clothes, posters and jewelry to Egyptian perfume bottles, People magazine subscriptions and imports from Ecuador and Tibet. Food choices will include pad thai, fried ravioli, Peruvian food and Larsen’s Fine Candies.
“You get a lot of different stuff that you can’t (usually) find on campus,” O’Brien said.
Although O’Brien said the masseuse from last year’s spring Street Faire will not be present, she added that this year’s faire will include a henna artist, which the faire has not had before.
There also will be music in the EMU Amphitheater during the faire, and the Hawaii Club will give a dance performance there at noon Thursday.
O’Brien said vendors pay a flat rate for space in the street faire, and money raised from the event goes toward upkeep of the ASUO office.
