Softball game postponed
In what was to be both teams’ inaugural Pacific-10 Conference contest of the season, the Oregon-Oregon State softball game on Saturday was postponed because of snowy conditions at Howe Field. The game would have been Oregon’s first at home after opening the season 14-8 on the road.
After only a half of an inning, where Oregon starting pitcher Connie McMurren held the Beavers scoreless, the umpires and two head coaches agreed to postpone the game.
“This is the best snow storm we’ve had all year, and it had to happen on the day of the home opener,” one Oregon fan said.
No makeup date has yet been set for the game.
