In a vote of the Pacific-10 Conference coaches, Washington junior guard Giuliana Mendiola was named the conference Player of the Year at a banquet in San Jose, Calif., Thursday night.
Arizona’s Shawntinice Polk was selected as the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and Tara VanDerveer of Stanford was named the Pac-10 Coach of the Year.
Oregon’s Cathrine Kraayeveld, a junior forward, and senior guard Alissa Edwards were selected as honorable mentions. Center Carolyn Ganes was named to the all-freshman team.
