In this world of chaos and insanity I have yet to find
something at this University that intrigues me more
than the supposed open-minded people that swell within
this campus and complain about, well… everything.
Now I would be one of the last to try to quiet the
sounds of opinions and heated debate because I’d
probably be the first to make my statement heard if I
believed the cause warranted.
But I am so sick of people accosting me while walking
to class. I DON’T want to sign your damn petition. If
I did I would sign it without being asked. There is no
need for you and your cohorts to follow me and try to
make me believe in your cause. Because like I said, if
I believed in it, you wouldn’t have to try to convince
me.
Just for clarity here are issues I believe in so you
will quit trying to get me to sign your petitions.
*I think we should go to war with Iraq.
*I believe women have the right to choose.
*I think we should use our natural resources even if
it means cutting down trees.
*I think people should revert to an ‘eye for and eye’
and practice it on people who commit crimes. Yes, that
means I believe in the death penalty.
*By the way, I may attend the University, but if you see me
sporting a Duck shirt it’s only because I liked the
design and the colors — no more, no less.
So, there you have it. I may be from Oregon, but I say
it loud and proud, whether others like what I have to
say or not.
