There’s no end in sight to the series and specials putting love to the test. As “Joe Millionaire” and “The Bachelorette” pare their potential spouses down to the final pairing, three other reality programs will soon try to win viewers’ hearts. Here’s a rundown:
* “InStyle Celebrity Weddings” (Jan. 21, NBC)
The celebrity magazine serves up another frothy mix of “revealing, exclusive photographs, intimate details and wedding day footage.” The celebrity couples on this edition include Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, who married last October in Austin. Also in the mix: Shannon Elizabeth of “American Pie” fame, “NYPD Blue’s” Sharon Lawrence, Kyle MacLachlan (“Sex and the City”), Tom Arnold and Marc Anthony.
* “Bridezillas” (Jan. 27, Fox)
The path to a perfect wedding isn’t always a smooth one. This one-hour special promises the nightmare scenario, as brides-to-be “turn from saccharine sweethearts into matrimonial monsters.” The special goes behind-the-scenes of wedding planning with “the most ‘insane’ brides-to-be on the planet.”
* “Married by America” (sometime in March, Fox)
This reality series, promoted heavily during “Joe Millionaire,” will let viewers be matchmakers. The promos point out that half of all marriages end in divorce. “Could Fox and its viewers do any worse?” asks the spot. Details are still a bit sketchy, but the ads suggest that call-in participants will choose and then see “complete strangers make the ultimate commitment.”
