Oregon softball’s Jenna Lilley was named Pac-12 player of the week and her teammate Cheridan Hawkins was selected pitcher of the week for the week of Feb. 2-8, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Lilley went 10-of-19 (.526) at the plate over the weekend in her first college appearances. Oregon won all six of its games at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Arizona over the weekend. Lilley scored eight runs on 10 hits, with seven RBIs.
Hawkins didn’t allow a run from the pitcher’s circle, posting 25 strikeouts in two starts and four appearances over the weekend. In her first start, Hawkins tossed a two-hit shutout in a five-inning game, ended in a run-rule. She struck out seven in the win over No. 25 Texas.
Against Northwestern, Hawkins there four one-hit innings in a 8-0 run-rule win. She appeared in games against North Carolina and Nevada, including the save against UNC.
The award is Lilley’s first-career weekly honor. It’s Hawkins’ seventh career weekly award.
Oregon will head to Texas for a doubleheader at Houston next Monday, Feb. 16.
