After a DuckWeb glitch that invalidated votes for Senate Seat 12 last week, We Are Oregon candidate Megan Jones won the seat because Casey Drobnick dropped out of the race, according to Elections Coordinator Cedar Cosner. This means elections are officially over. @@http://asuo.uoregon.edu/executive.php?a=12@@ @@http://www.uoregon.edu/findpeople/person/megan*jones@@ @@http://www.uoregon.edu/findpeople/person/casey*drobnic@@
Next to every vote is a number, and the computer counts the votes the number receives, not the name of the person running. According to Cosner, both Senate Seat 9 and Senate Seat 12 had the same number, so the votes were hard to count.
After Cosner called all the candidates, Drobnick decided to withdraw from the election, so the position automatically went to Jones.
