San Diego twins Tyree and Tyrell Robinson made the call to verbally commit to Oregon over the weekend.@@http://247sports.com/Article/Twins-Tyree-and-Tyrell-Robinson-offer-schools-strong-package-71525@@
“It’s official. We’re going to be Ducks,” Tyrell Robinson said, after visiting the school with his brother. Oregon soccer fell to No. 12 BYU last night, but it wasn’t their defense’s fault. Via GoDucks.com: “Oregon ended the match with the advantage in shots (12-10), shots on goal (5-2) and corner kicks (6-3), yet were held scoreless for the second time in as many games.”
“We kept the ball and possession was outstanding from our team,” head coach Tara Erickson said after the game. “I think that has really become a staple of our team, but we have to find a way to put the ball in the back of the net. At the end of the day, our defense will only be able to withstand for so long or maybe only give up one goal, but we have to find a way to score. We have the talent to do it, we just have to commit ourselves to the idea of offense and attacking and scoring goals.”
The Ducks (5-3-2) face a tough road trip to Berkeley, Calif., and Palo Alto, Calif., to face Cal and Stanford respectively.
Two days after recording 13 tackles — 10 of them unassisted — senior linebacker Michael Clay was honored as the Pac-12’s Defensive Player of the Week.@@http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.ssf/2012/09/oregon_ducks_linebacker_michae.html@@
Clay, a San Jose, Calif. native, also posted a sack and a forced fumble in Oregon’s 49-0 win over Arizona, which came into the game with the nation’s fourth-best offense in the nation, statistically.
Clay’s 13 tackles tied a career-best he set against Wisconsin in last January’s Rose Bowl.
