All students are invited to an open discussion on the electronic ticketing proposal currently before the Student Senate from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Walnut Room of the EMU.
The meeting will be dedicated to finding compromising language needed to pass an amendment to the ASUO’s contract with the Athletic Department that would allow tickets to University football and basketball games to be distributed via the Internet and attached to student identification cards, Alex McCafferty said.
McCafferty, a member of the Athletics and Contracts Finance Committee, said he hopes the discussion will yield a definition of “special exemptions” that will allow students to pick up tickets in person if they can not log on to GoDucks.com during an allotted time frame.
There will also be discussion of the merits of distributing tickets via GoDucks.com as opposed to DuckWeb, and how to prevent students from purchasing standing-room only tickets and using them to sneak into the student section of Autzen Stadium.
“Our idea is to use stamps like they do in theme parks and concerts,” McCafferty said.
