“With sardonic wit and incisive social critiques, David Sedaris has become one of America’s pre-eminent humor writers,” writes the Steven Barclay Agency.
On Friday night, Sedaris will bring his wit to Eugene.
As a regular contributor to the New Yorker, Sedaris is also author of the bestsellers “Holidays on Ice,” “Me Talk Pretty One Day,” “Dress Your Family in Corduroy” and others.
Tracking down obscure stories on NPR’s “This American Life” and poking fun at awkward social situations, Sedaris makes a strong statement about political correctness and human hypocrisy. Sedaris and his sister, together known as “The Talent Family,” have written six plays, including “Stump the Host,” “Stitches” and “One Woman Shoe.”
“Sedaris belongs on any list of people writing in English at the moment who are revising our ideas about what’s funny,” writes the San Francisco Chronicle.
Sedaris will speak at the Hult Center on Friday at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $27.50.
