Mayland “Pete” Peterson, the owner of campus barbershop the Red Rooster, has cut hair for students, community members, and University alumni for 40 years. Among his most esteemed clients he counts Steve Prefontaine, former UO student and current Gonzaga track coach Pat Tyson, and legendary track coach Bill Dellinger. Pete loves his job and his customers, saying that the reason he comes to work every day is because of the people who come in to his shop.
