The Oregon women’s track and field team announced a six-person recruiting class for 2011 Tuesday night.
Two distance runners, two heptathletes, a middle-distance runner and a sprinter/jumper make up the new Duck women’s class.
Claudia Francis, an 800-meter specialist from Laurelton, N.Y., is the sister of current Oregon freshman Phyllis Francis. Green Bay, Wisc., native Allison Woodward and Poway, Calif., native Molly Grabill (both top-10 finishers in the Foot Locker National Cross Country Championships) will compete in long distances for the Ducks.
A set of twins from Fresno, Calif. were signed to compete in the heptathlon after Brianne Theisen graduates. Alyssa and Anginae Monteverde competed in the 2009 Youth National Championships in the event.
Sprinter/jumper Jenna Prandini of Clovis, Calif., the reigning California triple jump and long jump champion, rounds out the class.
