Iraq War’s conclusion
On Friday, President Barack Obama@@http://www.barackobama.com@@ announced that by the year’s end, all American troops stationed in Iraq would be coming home. Obama is finally putting an end to a war that has stretched on for almost nine years and diverted billions of dollars that could have been better spent at home. Bravo.
Occupy Eugene’s walk in the park
Occupy Eugene moved their location from downtown to Alton Baker Park in order to avoid interfering with merchants at Saturday Market. Good job of doing something to live out your mission statement of helping the lives of the 99 percent.

Return of the McRib
The McRib is back. This fake-meat, fake-bread and fake-food phenomenon is so loved by the American public that its return to McDonald’s is deemed important enough for mainstream news coverage. However, its revival also means that drunk college kids everywhere have another disgusting food option for late-night binges. Huzzah!

The federal jobs bill stalled
An unanimous vote from Senate Republicans kept Obama’s jobs bill from reaching the floor without an explained reason why. Whether Republican or Democrat, we’ve got to start putting people back to work.
