—In Anaheim, California on Thursday night, Oregon men’s basketball team knocked off Duke 82-68 to advance to the program’s first Elite Eight since 2007. The Ducks will face Oklahoma on Saturday at 3:07 p.m. on CBS in head coach Dana Altman’s first Elite Eight.
—The Oregonian’s John Canzano wrote that perhaps Oregon’s win over Duke was a “breakthrough moment” for the program.
—The Oregon softball team opened its state-of-the-art new home in Jane Sanders Stadium on Thursday in dramatic fashion. The Ducks blanked Stanford 2-0 behind Cheridan Hawkins’ 14 strikeouts. The new stadium features an indoor practice facility, a new locker room and players lounge.
—Oregon women’s basketball advanced to the quarterfinals of the WNIT on Wednesday night with a win over Utah. Lexi Bando led the way with 34 points and six 3-pointers. The Ducks — who have now won three games in a row — will travel to El Paso, Texas to face UTEP on March 28 at 6 p.m. PST.
—The Oregon men’s golf team placed No. 6 overall after the first day of competition at The Goodwin at Stanford. Duck sophomore Aaron Wise holds the No. 2 spot heading into Friday morning’s competition.
