The WNBA invited Cathrine Kraayeveld, a former member of the Oregon women’s basketball team, to its Pre-Draft Camp held at the Madison Square Garden Training Center April 7-10.
The 6-foot-4 forward finished the 2004-05 season as the Ducks’ leading scorer (14.7 ppg), rebounder (8.3 rpg) and shot
blocker (37 total).
She earned an All-Pacific-10 Conference team selection and
Region 8 All-American honors.
Earlier this season, Kraayeveld expressed her desire to play basketball after college, either in the WNBA or an international league.
No former Oregon players are on current WNBA rosters, however, four have been drafted, with the most recent being Shaquala Williams in 2003.
The three-round WNBA Draft will be held April 16 and the first round will be televised on ESPN2 at 9 a.m. The WNBA’s ninth season starts May 21.
