Just trying to keep it real, after the heaviness of MLK Day. That
day
gives us a lot to think about. Those who are of different nationalities
and
those who are not. I hope that every day each person strives to make
this
world a better place for their children and their childrens’ children.
But
in doing so we all must stop fighting against each other and start
fighting
the problems of society.
There are so many more societal problems. Ones that people don’t
want to
face. That’s why being a columnist is so great. I can get it up there;
bring it to light. Make people listen, or at the very least become
aware of
the growing problems of homelessness, abortion issues (yes, the
decisions
involved are still warring), war with Iraq? (still very much in
debate).
I only hope that as 2003 progresses we will all come to the
realization
that Oregon and the world isn’t what we thought, and we need to open
our
eyes to see that.
