Oregon women’s basketball sophomore forward Jillian Alleyne has been named to the all-Pac-12 team Tuesday morning. Guards Chrishae Rowe and Ariel Thomas were honorable mention all-league choices, as well.
Alleyne currently leads the nation in both rebounds (15.7) and double-doubles (26) while ranking third in the Pac-12 in scoring (21.6).
The honor places her as Oregon’s first all-Pac-12 choice since Amanda Johnson in 2011-12. Allene is also the fifth under Ducks head coach Paul Westhead.
Alleyne broke the Oregon season rebounding record previously held by Bev Smith and is only 11 more away from tying the Pac-12 record of 466, set by Stanford star Chiney Ogwumike last season. She also broke Smith’s double-double record of 24.
Alleyne became the fastest player in school history to reach the 1,000-career points mark, accomplishing it against No. 20 Arizona State on Friday.
Rowe was not only named an all-league honorable mention but also to the Pac-12 all-Freshman team. Rowe is the top scoring freshman in the nation this season.
Thomas picked up her first all-league choice in her career, also joining Alleyne in the 1,000-point club, which she attained during senior night Sunday against Arizona.
The Ducks will play Thursday against Washington State in the first round of the Pac-12 tournament.
