Despite Lexi Bando’s team-high of 18 points and Jillian Alleyne’s 45th career double-double, the Oregon women’s basketball team dropped its opening game of the South Point Thanksgiving Shootout to Central Michigan 73-67.
Amanda Delgado’s hometown appearance netted her 12 points and five rebounds in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her four field goals were all three-pointers.
Alleyne finished with 16 points and 17 rebounds, which is her fourth double-double in as many games this season. She finished with 14 second half points of her 16 total.
The Ducks (2-2) had an 11 point lead in the second half, but CMU’s (3-1) Crystal Bradford turned on the jets, scoring 34 points and tallying 15 rebounds. They were outscored 40-27 in the second half.
Oregon lost the field goal percentage battle in the second half. The Ducks shot 28.6 percent from the field in the second half, compared to Central Michigan’s mark of 50 percent.
Oregon shot just 15.4 percent from three-point range in the second half (2-of-13).
Jordan Loera saw her first playing time since March 3, 2013 after sitting out last season with a knee injury. She finished with five points and three assists in playing 14 minutes.
The Ducks take on American tomorrow at 6 p.m. in their second game of the South Point Thanksgiving Shootout.
