Oregon finished second (6-over par, 858) in the Bay Area Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday in Fairfax, California. The Ducks have now finished in the top two of their first three intercollegiate tournaments of the spring.
Washington (No. 1) bested Oregon (No. 31) by 24 strokes (18-under, 834). Oregon outlasted third-place (No. 36) UC Davis (14-over, 866) by eight strokes. The 13-team field included seven ranked in the top 50, but just one (Washington) in the top 30.
Caroline Inglis (5-under, 208) lead the Ducks, finishing in third place, while Cathleen Santoso (2-under, 211) headed into the clubhouse in sixth. Washington’s Jennifer Yang and Colorado’s Esther Lee tied for first place ahead of Inglis by two stokes, shooting seven-under (206).
Cassy Isagawa (5-over, 218), Kelsey Ulep (10-over, 223) and Cali Hipp (10-over, 223) rounded out the roster for the Ducks. Marcella Pranovia (2-over, 215) tied for 12th playing as an individual. Out of the 71 golfers who participated in the tournament, all six Ducks finished in the top 30.
After the first two rounds on day one, Oregon (2-under, 566) was the frontrunner to finish second behind a dominant Washington team. Cathleen Santoso and Caroline Inglis sat in second as well, each shooting 4-under (138).
In the opening round, Oregon shot just one-over (285), but stayed competitive by not scoring anything higher than a bogey.
The Ducks improved in the second round, shooting three-under (282).
Caroline Santoso (3-under, 68) and Caroline Inglis (2-under, 69) once again lead the way. Santoso paired four birdies with just one bogey, while Inglis recorded an eagle on the par-4 fourth hole.
Oregon managed to hold second place despite struggling in the final round, shooting 8-over (292).
Though Inglis (one-under, 70) continued to lower her score, Santoso (2-over, 73) saved her worst round for last. The rest of the Ducks whose scores counted for the team shot a combined 14-over (227) in the final round.

Oregon will travel to Hawaii March 25-27 for the Avenue Spring Break Classic.
