Jillian Alleyne had 17 points and 11 rebounds — her 21st consecutive double-double — en route to a 77-51 Oregon win over North Dakota Saturday at Matthew Knight Arena.
Alleyne’s effort matches her school and Pac-12 record for consecutive double-doubles, which she set last season. Oregon had four players score in double digits, including Lexi Bando (14), Lexi Petersen (13) and Kat Cooper (12).
The Ducks (5-0) had a 40-26 lead at halftime, and their largest lead of the game — 28 points — came with 8:13 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Oregon got out to a quick 15-4 lead in the waning minutes of the first quarter on a jumper from Petersen, who had eight of her 13 points in the first. The Ducks extended their lead to 30-17 on a 3-pointer from Cooper with 4:35 left in the second.
Back-to-back 3-pointers from Bando and Cooper helped the Ducks stretch their lead to 40-26 at halftime. At intermission, Oregon was outshooting North (1-4) Dakota 60 percent to 41 percent.
Layups from Petersen, Maite Cazorla — who had a team-high four assists — and Alleyne helped the Ducks once mount a 56-32 lead with 2:12 left in the third quarter. The Ducks also had an advantage in bench points (25-17), largely from Cooper’s effort. The fifth-year Boston College transfer came into the game averaging 9.8 points a game.
The Ducks out-rebounded the Fighting Hawks (34-23) and combined for eight blocks.
A free-throw from Cooper with 8:13 to play helped the Ducks find their largest lead of the game. North Dakota never led against Oregon, which benefited from a 18-8 advantage in second-chance points.
The Ducks return to action on Monday, with a 8 p.m. tipoff against San Jose State on Pac-12 Networks.
