Man arrested after police chase
Adam Webster, 38, was arrested after attempting to elude police by driving between a moving freight truck and a car stopped on the shoulder of the freeway. A stun gun was used to stop and subdue him after he tried to flee from his disabled vehicle.
Webster was booked into the Lane County Jail on a variety of charges, including unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, attempting to allude, possession of methamphetamine, reckless driving and hit and run.
Police were alerted about the stolen vehicle by Ron Bathe, a community service officer, who remembered seeing a report of that particular vehicle being stolen a few days earlier
Man faces child pornography charges
A five-month investigation led to the arrest of Catalin Dulfu, 53, on 15 counts of first-degree encouraging child sex abuse and 15 counts of second-degree encouraging child sex abuse. Dulfu plead not guilty on all counts at the Lane County Circuit Court earlier this week, and is currently being held in the Lane County Jail.
Investigators began to suspect Dulfu when software that allowed online file sharing was downloaded onto a computer in Dulfu’s home. A special agent of the Department of Justice remotely connected to that computer’s Internet Protocol address and discovered videos of children being sexually abused or engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
When investigators went to Dulfu’s home, they seized three computers, a camera kit and other things they considered evidence in the case.

Police fail to capture a carjacking suspect during manhunt
Two drivers were approached by a man who threatened to shoot them if they did not turn over their keys early Wednesday afternoon. One of the drivers gave the man his keys, while the other drove away.
Police connected events after comparing suspect descriptions, and also discovered that the same man had gone into the nearby Walmart and Target stores. He shoplifted from both and then fled on foot. Police set up a perimeter around the area which had three dog units; however, they were unable to find the suspect.
The man was described as a white male in his 20s or 30s and about 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a stolen white OP hoodie sweatshirt with thin horizontal stripes and blue sweatpants. Anyone who thinks they might have seen him are encouraged to call the Eugene Police Department at: 541-682-8888
