“Castle parties, island raves, heavy metal maniacs, Asian pop fanatics – it’s all part of the adventure,” writes Fuse TV about its new program, “Fuse Excellent Adventure.” Hosted by Nate Jackson, a former University student who graduated in 2005 with a degree in journalism, electronic media, from the School of Journalism and Communication, the show is about his travels in search of the world’s various music festivals.
“Fuse Excellent Adventure” premiered Oct. 7 and runs on Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. on channel 476. With other shows like “Rock and Roll Acid Test” and “The Weekly Riff,” Fuse is a cable network that focuses on rock, punk, alternative, metal and indie.
The season premiere begins at a Goth party in the 16th-century Bolkow Castle of Poland. Jackson tries out skin piercings and joins a search to find a witch in Europe’s largest “dark culture” experience.
On an episode to come, Jackson heads to the tropical Mediterranean party island of Ibiza. Clubbers hit the beaches in this tropical paradise with a party legacy that can be traced back to the Romans.
From Moroccan rap to silent disco in Scotland and Bollywood’s most talented in India, Jackson often runs into intensely weird situations that at first don’t seem to relate to music at all. In one such instance he witnesses an animal sacrifice that once inspired Led Zeppelin. But the show is not meant for one specific audience, and the difficult task of hosting such a show understandably calls for a special personality.
“‘Fuse Excellent Adventure’ takes our viewers on an international journey and helps them discover new and exciting forms of music,” a Fuse spokesperson said. “Nate’s comedic talent adds a great touch of fun to the mix.”
Voted class clown in high school, Jackson is a laid-back, positive and sometimes quirky host who knows how to have a good time. Jackson began his career at the television station Duck U, where he explored Eugene’s nightlife. He has been featured on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and the Travel Channel’s “What’s Your Trip?” During his free time, Jackson participates in the Los Angeles Connection Comedy Improv Group.
Now Jackson douses himself in diverse cultural products of a universal love for music, whether it be pop, rock, hip hop, techno or something most people have never even heard of.
“Nate surfs the crowd with music lovers from all walks of life, seeking out the … far-flung musical corners of the earth to explore the crazy lifestyles and bizarre cultures on display at the world’s most amazing and unique music festivals and parties,” writes Fuse TV.
