A pair of new faces to the Oregon soccer team each scored twice Saturday during an intrasquad scrimmage.
Leigh Quinlan, a freshman from Victoria, B.C., scored the white team’s two first half goals, while sophomore transfer Adriana Montes added two goals in the second half to lead the white team to a 5-0 victory over the green squad.
“It was exciting to score a lot of goals, which is something we didn’t do a lot of last year,” Oregon coach Tara Erickson said in a University press release.
Quinlan’s first goal came at the 20:44 mark, followed by her second at 31:01. Montes, a transfer from Lane Community College, scored at the 54:13 and 66:45 marks.
Melissa Buich, a freshman from Alama, Calif., scored at 58:13.
Oregon opens the regular season Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. by hosting No. 28 Long Beach State.
