The Oregon men’s basketball team beat visiting Concordia University 99-61 last night at McArthur Court in the team’s first exhibition game of the season.
 
Freshman Jamil Wilson led the way for the Ducks with 17 points and four steals during his 18 minutes of playing time. Wilson and senior point guard Tajuan Porter combined on the top play of the night when Porter picked up a loose ball near midcourt and drove the lane where he threw the ball high off the glass to a soaring Wilson who caught it for the two-handed slam.
 
Sophomore guard Teondre Williams had a solid game for the Ducks as he scored 12 points in 13 minutes before going to the bench with leg cramps midway through the second half.
Senior Joevan Catron also had 12 points, while sophomores Malcolm Armstead and Matthew Humphrey added 14 and 10 points, respectively.
 
Oregon spent a majority of the game applying full-court pressure on the much smaller Concordia backcourt, which resulted in 22 turnovers for the visitors.
 
Drew Preuninger led the way for Concordia with 15 points on four of seven shooting, which included three three-pointers, though it was heavily outmatched as the Ducks recorded 30 more shot attempts on the night.
 
13th-year head coach Ernie Kent was able to play all 15 members of the roster with all but two players recording a field goal.
The Ducks will host another exhibition game on Sunday, Nov. 8, when Lewis and Clark University visits Mac Court. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
