A woman says she was hit in the back by a falling metal plate during a 2015 football game at Autzen Stadium in 2015, court documents show.
Plaintiff Debra Anderson is suing for $160,000 because the incident allegedly caused permanent damage to parts of her lower back and hip, a puncture wound to her back, pain and suffering and inconvenience and interference with normal activities apart from work.
The lawsuit, filed Oct. 3, does not give any more of a description of the plate of metal that hit Anderson.
The incident allegedly occurred at around 3:30 p.m. during a game against Washington State when the plate hit in the right lower back and caused Anderson to jolt forward into a cement barrier.
The UO roofing contractor checked other plates at Autzen Stadium to confirm they were secure according to UO spokesmen Tobin Klinger. The university did not provide any further comment on the lawsuit.
