Both Oregon and California shot a total score of 41-under 811@@CE@@, with No. 23@@CE@@ San Diego State coming in eight shots behind in third place at 33-under 819@@CE@@. San Francisco and Colorado State rounded out the top five@@CE@@.
Oregon senior Eugene Wong also took home the individual title, his 18-under 195@@CE@@ besting California’s Max Homa@@CE@@ (200) by five strokes@@CE@@. Freshman Rak Cho@@CE@@ followed close behind with an impressive tie for third at 12-under 201@@CE@@, while senior Daniel Miernicki@@CE@@ tied for 12th with a seven-under 206@@CE@@. Senior Andrew Vijarro@@CE@@ (tied for 31st@@CE@@) and redshirt senior Jack Paton@@CE@@ (tied for 63rd@@CE@@) rounded out Oregon’s five finishers.
The Ducks entered the final round of play on Tuesday with a two-shot lead over Cal and were only caught when the Golden Bears shot a 13-under 271@@CE@@ in the final round. Oregon’s 11-under 273@@CE@@ was its worst round of the tournament, but still good enough to guarantee a share of the title.
With a share of the title in Fairfax, the Ducks have now either tied for the victory or won outright in each of their three tournaments this fall@@goducks schedule@@. They will look to continue their hot start against UCLA in a three-day tournament beginning on Oct. 31@@goducks schedule@@.
