Thank you for the great piece on Miguel and Maria Cortez, the managers of Cafe Roma. I have frequented Roma for more than 20 years, have admired this pair and have been impressed by their great drinks and baked goods.
I have also enjoyed the very gradual and economic expansion of the Roma Empire first to the east, then west of their early location.
More importantly, it has been impressive to see the staff that the Cortez family hires and trains over the years, a spirited group delivering great service. All of the staff at Roma are just first-rate.
When you are looking for coffee, Starbucks is a predictable place but I recommend some local flavor at Roma, Barry’s and Students R Boss@@http://www.facebook.com/pages/Students-R-Boss/357765316144?sk=app_6261817190@@ — the small place on the corner by Taylor’s. Give them all a try.
