Fun With Fermentation at the Unitarian Universalist Church. 1685 W 13th Ave. 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
This educational event will teach you all about the fermented foods we eat every day. You can even learn how to ferment your own foods at home with four live demonstrations. There will also be free fermented food and beverage samples and a raffle. The suggested donation is $5 with 2 cans of food.

Astrology Reading at Tsunami Books. 2585 Willamette St. 2 – 4 p.m.
This weekend, local astrologer Johanna Mitchell pays a visit to Tsunami Books to share her annual predictions for the year. It also counts as a benefit for the Laurel Hill Center, a nonprofit working to help people with psychiatric disabilities here in Eugene. The requested donation is $10 to $15.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about the history of Portland, take this tour through Portland’s underground culture, filled with crime scenes, scandal, political intrigue, and interesting characters. This isn’t a tour for the weak-hearted: it’s a tour through the dark past of Portland’s Old Town and Chinatown, so come with an open mind.

BeerQuest Brewery Tour at Rock Bottom Brewing. 206 SW Morrison St. 2 p.m.
If you love beer, you can experience Portland’s celebrated beer culture and tour many of the city’s acclaimed breweries on the BeerQuest Brewery Tour. You’ll taste over 12 beers from local breweries including IPAs, Irish Reds, Stouts, and more. The tour guide is a professional beer-tasting judge who will guide you through the beer-making process and give you the chance to sample some of the ingredients. Learn about famous Old Town landmarks on this walking tour.
