Good morning! It’s Sunday, June 9.
After Oregon baseball qualified for the Super Regionals last weekend, they knew they’d have a tough challenge incoming. After game one against the No. 3 ranked Aggies, they will certainly have an uphill climb ahead of them. After exploding for six runs in the first two innings and chasing the Aggies ace out of the game, the Aggies responded with seven unanswered runs, claiming victory 10-6. After pulling their starter after just 1.2 innings, pitcher Chris Cortez completely stymied the Ducks offense, going 5.2 innings, allowing only 2 hits and striking out 10 batters. A couple fielding errors in the fourth inning and nine total walks throughout the duration of the game hurt the Ducks, making today a must-win game against one of the toughest teams in the nation. Grayson Grinsell will draw the start.
