– Freshman Lindsey Vander Weide, an outside hitter for the Ducks, was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week after averaging 4.71 kills per set. Despite the accolade, the Ducks lost to No. 14 Arizona in straight sets last weekend.
– After a devastating loss to Utah last week that dropped Oregon from the AP Top 25 for the first time in six years, the Ducks are looking for a comeback against Colorado on Saturday at 7 p.m . With recent injuries to both Byron Marshall and Charles Nelson and a mystery surrounding who will play quarterback, the Ducks could face a challenge.
– After wins for both the men’s and women’s cross country teams at the Bill Dellinger Invitational in mid-September, the team is preparing for the Washington Invitational. Junior Edward Cheserek, who has won nine of his past 10 races, is expected to win once again this Friday.
– Oregon women’s soccer fell to two-time defending Pac-12 champs UCLA 1-0 at Drake stadium. The team will play this Friday, Oct. 2, 8 p.m. at Papé Field.
– Just three days remain until women’s tennis makes its way back to the courts for the WSU Invitational. Standouts from last year to watch include Alyssa Tobita, Nia Rose and Marlou Kluiving, all of whom made appearances for the Ducks in last years Pac-12 Women’s Tennis Tournament.
– Oregon baseball is gearing up for its season with the eighth highest ranked recruiting class in the nation. Some incoming Ducks include Travis Moniot, Matt Kroon and Jacob Bennett, who was awarded the Gatorade Oregon Baseball Player of the Year in 2015.
